Changes are on the horizon for Destiny 2, as Legendary Shards will soon be retired from the game. What does this mean in the grand scheme of things? Well, if you’ve been hoarding them, now is a great time to spend big, as Xur is back in the cosmic neighborhood with new exotics in stock. Here’s where Xur is this weekend and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in the ZMEin it winding cove area. For his weapon, Xur offers Trinity Ghoul. Hunters can collect the The spine of young Ahamkara gauntlets; Titans can grab the Alpha Lupi Crest armor; and witches can buy the Ophidian appearance gauntlets.
Location of Xur
Spawn in the Winding Cove broadcast zone, then hop on your sparrow and head north. Take the collapsed overpass to the left and look for a cave near the bend in the road. Follow the tunnel through the cliff to reach a higher ridge where a fallen dropship crashed; You will find Xur waiting there.
Exotic and Legendary Items from Xur
- Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Trinity Ghoul – 29 Legendary Shards
- The Spine of Young Ahamkara: 23 Legendary Fragments
- Alpha Lupi Crest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Ophidian Aspect: 23 Legendary Shards
- Hawkmoon: 200 Legendary Shards, 125,000 Flashes, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
- Xenology Search – Free
- Legendary Weapons and Armor: 50 Legendary Shards, 1000 Flashes
Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard Ops or win Crucible and Gambit matches in order to earn an Exotic Cipher. They are normally used to purchase vintage exotics at a Tower kiosk, but starting this season you can spend them at Master Rahool to get any exotics you want. The limit on exotic ciphers has also increased, as you will now be able to have up to five of them at a time.
Spine of Young Ahamkara (Exotic Hunter’s Gauntlets)
This set of macabre gauntlets will increase the duration of the Tripmine grenade and the explosion radius, which works well for any hunter looking to set a booby trap. Ability damage also grants Tripmine Grenade energy, so the uptime to recharge that power is substantially reduced. Stat-wise, recovery is very high, recovery and strength are low, and the crucial discipline stat is above average, so you won’t need to invest too many armor mods into this exotic.
- Mobility: 10
- Resilience: 19
- Recovery: 3
- Discipline: 14
- Intellect: 9
- Strength: 6
- Total: 61
Alpha Lupi Crest (Exotic Titan Armor)
A majestic exotic for Titans, Crest of Alpha Lupi generates an orb of additional power from Supers and a healing pulse every time Barricade is activated. That gives it a lot of functionality and, stat-wise, it has excellent strength and stamina. Recovery is average, but discipline and intellect are very low, so you’ll have to compensate with armor mods.
- Mobility: 7
- Resilience: 17
- Recovery: 11
- Discipline: 2
- Intellect: 2
- Strength: 30
- Total: 69
Ophidian Aspect (Exotic Warlock Gauntlets)
For the warlock who likes to spend time in PvP, Ophidian Aspect is a pretty good exotic to equip. If you’re confident in your firearms skills in Destiny 2, then you’ll benefit from much faster reload and weapon readiness speeds. This Ophidian Aspect roll has high stamina and strength stats, average recovery and discipline, and very low Intellect.
- Mobility: 3
- Resilience: 18
- Recovery: 13
- Discipline: 10
- Intellect: 2
- Strength: 20
- Total: 66
Trinity Ghoul (exotic bow)
Bows are quite powerful this season thanks to the seasonal artifact, and Trinity Ghoul is an excellent version of the medieval weapon. This exotic works well with Bow-centric builds, as it fires an arrow of Bow energy that splits into three projectiles. Aiming down sights decreases spread, and as an added trick, precision kills grant the next shot chain lightning abilities.
- split electron
- high tension rope
- Compact arrow shaft
- Lightning rod
Hawkmoon (exotic hand cannon)
Hawkmoon has a fairly average roll this week, with the updated Snapshot Sights perk providing faster time to aim down sights. It’s an average buff that could be faster, but we’ve seen worse Hawkmoon rolls before.
- paracausal trigger
- Fluted barrel
- alloy magazine
- Snapshot views
- Textured grip

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10am PT/1pm ET every Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map and, for new players, can be easy to miss. However, there are a certain number of places where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in the Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
