Piranha Games has announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans will be released in 2024 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
MechWarrior 5: Clans follows the story of a squad of elite mechs in a clan called Smoke Jaguar. It takes place during Operation Revival, which was an invasion of the Inner Sphere. The game is different from 2019’s MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, which was an open procedural experience. MechWarrior 5: Clans, on the other hand, will feature a linear campaign and will be an evolution of the franchise’s gameplay.
The game also features customization and mechanical progression options, where players can modify their own mechanical loadouts.
While Piranha Games stated that MechWarrior 5: Clans will be released on consoles, the studio did not specify whether it would only include the current generation of consoles with PS5 and Xbox Series or the last generation also with PS4 and Xbox One.
Piranha Games president Russ Bullock teased that a new MechWarrior game was in development in January, but the official reveal wouldn’t be until later this year. We now have confirmation that MechWarrior 5: Clans will be released in 2024.
